Chiang Mai Hospitals
Chiang Mai is promoting itself as a medical tourism destination and with the abundance of excellent hospitals, it’s easy to see why they chose Chiang Mai. There is one major teaching hospital that, while it can be crowded, has an array of highly skilled doctors along with private and government hospitals with highly trained personnel.
Most doctors in Chiang Mai will have a high degree of English skills and many also studied overseas. The nurses are always charming and friendly and the care received at most hospitals is still top class but at a fraction of the cost. Elective surgery is the usual form of medical tourism since recuperating in Thailand can be so pleasant, but for residents in Chiang Mai, the hospitals can generally provide most of the same services as hospitals in Bangkok although, of course there will be a few limitations.
Most major hospitals also offer excellent outpatient services as well as baby delivery, oncology, cardiac units and of course cosmetic surgery.
